Seller offering a 1953 Pontiac Chieftain Deluxe with 90,066 showing on the odometer for $12,800. On a per pound basis (3,728 lbs) it’s a great deal. Seller says the vehicle appears to be have repainted some time ago but overall the exterior is in great condition. Stainless steel and chrome trim only have a few blemishes. 1953 was the first year of the Chieftain Deluxe and the first year the windshield was in one piece and larger rear fins were introduced.
The Pontiac Chieftain was produced from 1949-1958. 1953 represents the first of three generations produced. The Chieftain came with 4 engine options – 2 of which are 6-cylinders. While the 2 6-cylinder engines were the same 239.2 cubic inch size, compression ratios varied.
1953 was also the first year air conditioning and power windows were an option. We appreciate the oversized steering wheel, chrome dash, and knob on the steering wheel. Seller says the radio and power antenna work. Interior is in largely original condition but seller notes some tears on the front seat that the seat covers conceal. We dig the seat covers too though. This 1953 Pontiac Chieftain Deluxe is for sale Stewartsville, Missouri. Check out seller’s listing on Facebook Marketplace for full details and contact information.
