Seller offering a 1971 De Tomaso Pantera with 37,600 miles for a buy-it-now price of $112,000. Seller says in very good driving condition, no damage, and always garaged. Italian designed, Ford began importing Panteras for sale through its LIncoln dealers from in 1975 – having sold approximately 5,500 vehicles during that time. Equipped with a Ford 5.8L V8, the vehicle produced 305 hp and a reported 0-60 of 5.5 seconds.
One of the distinctive features of the Pantera is its badging. The De Tomaso logo was based on its founders’s Argentinian heritage. After Ford disengaged from De Tomaso continued production in more limited numbers until 1993. Throughout its production, the Pantera continued to be equipped with Ford engines.
Seller is a little light on details – not clear if this example is original or has undergone any amount of restoration. Seller says the A/C blows cold and drives great. The color, trim, interior, and badging all appear to be correct. We like the original wheels. At one point an enthusiast bought, restored, and tastefully modified Panteras in Merrian, Kansas. He advertised in Hemmings Auto News and had around half a dozen of these in his garages.
