Seller offering a low mileage 1982 BMW 320i with 77,000 original miles at auction with a current bid of $4,500 (11 bids). Auction ends on Wednesday, October 17th at 2:15 PM. Reportedly put in storage for 27 years by the original owner, the seller purchased the vehicle in February 2017 on Bring a Trailer. This vehicle is in Sapphire Blue Metallic over blue perforated vinyl interior. Largely original, the overall condition is strong. We like the simplicity of the early BMW’s – especially with the manual transmission.
The 320i was produced from 1977-1983. Equipped with a 1.8L inline 4-cylinder engine and 5-speed manual transmission, the 320i produced a reported 101-hp and top speed of 105 mph. The manual 5-speed is reported to be much more nimble than the automatic versions.
Due to US emissions regulations, the E21 was not equipped with the 6-cylinder found in Europe. This was also the era of increasing safety requirements and the E21 has the “diving board” front and rear bumper bars
Not unlike other vehicles of its era, whether Corvettes or Ferraris, performance suffered under new US emissions regulations. While engines were downsized and horsepower decreased the driving experience of the E21 continued to be strong. Owners report that the E21 is fun to drive (once you get passed accelerating).
This 1982 BMW 320i is for sale in Lawrence, Kansas. Check out seller’s listing on Bring a Trailer for full details and contact information.
