Seller offering a 1989 Dodge Dakota Sport convertible with a reported 93,000 original miles for $8,500. Seller is light on details but reports that this is a one owner vehicle and has all factory accessories. Introduced in 1989, Dodge worked with American Sunroof Corporation to equip its Dakota Sport with a convertible top and a single hoop roll bar. In addition to the top, the Dakota Sport has unique graphics that designate the model – very 80’s graphics.
The Dakota Sport was only made for three years – 1989-1991 and during that period less than 4,000 examples were made. Equipped with a 3.9-liter V6 and either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission, the Dakota came standard with velour seats, power windows, and door looks, fog lights, and anti-lock brakes.
The soft-top came in either black, white, or red. A common complaint of the Dakota Sport was it’s ability to protect the cab from the elements. The retractable top lowered to cover part of the bed – which may have also been a deterrent. This 1989 Dodge Dakota Sport is available in Lawrence, Kansas.
