Seller offering a 1992 Lexus SC400 with 132,000 miles for $2,500. Seller discloses that the vehicle is not problem free and says that after shutting off the engine it takes a while for it to start again. They believe it may need a new shift solenoid. Otherwise, the vehicle runs great, recent tune up with tons of new parts and service records from the dealer where it was purchased. Recent service includes new head gasket, timing belt, battery and terminals. Pearl white paint and tan leather appear to be in good shape.
1992 was the second year of the SC line of grand tourers that was produced until 2010. When introduced, the SC was Toyota’s first luxury coupe, meant to compete with the Mercedes SL, Infiniti M30 and Acura Legend. The SC300 had a 3.0L V6 while the SC400 had the larger 4.0L V8 – the same engine used in the LS400 sedan. The SC400 engine produced 250 hp versus the SC300’s 225 hp. The output of the SC400 was 30 hp more than the Toyota Supra. A total of over 19,000 SC 400’s were produced in 1992.
