Seller offering a 2005 Ford GT with 2,878 miles. Price available upon request. Currently offered through Black Horse Motorwerks, this black on black example with no stripe, premium wheels, OEM painted calipers and premium exhaust looks great. We can’t get enough of the GT40. More than a decade after its release it continues its design and performance don’t get old.
Code name “Petunia” during its development, the Ford GT was meant to be a celebration of Ford racing heritage at its centennial celebration. Based on the Ford GT that took 1-2-3 at the 1966 Le Mans, it’s bigger, wider, and taller than the original. A total of 4,038 GT40’s were built between 2004 and 2006.
Equipped with Ford’s supercharged 5.4L V8, the GT40’s performance matched its design with a 550-hp, 500 lb-ft of torque, 0-60 in under 4 seconds, and a top seed of 205 mph. Car and Driver tested the GT40 in January of 2004 and recorded a 0-60 mph time of 3.3 seconds. Yeah – that’s pretty sweet.
The initial retail price of the GT40 was $139,995. Buyers were initially paying up to $100,000 premiums due to limited supply/allocations to dealerships. This 2005 Ford GT is for sale in Bucyrus, Kansas. Check out seller’s listing at Black Horse Motorwerks for full details and contact information.
