Seller offering a 2005 Lotus Elise with 29,170 miles at auction with a starting bid of $30,000. Auction ends 7/18 at 2:48 pm. A much different design than the Lotus Esprit (which we are partial to), the Elise is all about performance. So much about performance that it took almost 10 years before an Elise was produced that met US safety standards. This example includes red and black Lotus accents, new battery, recent safety testing, and aftermarket lights on teh undercarriage that can be controlled via bluetooth from a phone app.
2005 was the first year the Lotus Elise was sold in the US market. More race car than cruiser, the passenger seat was almost obligatory. The passenger seat is thinly padded and since there is barely enough room for two, the seat is in a fixed position (driver’s seat is adjustable) and a 1/3rd of the size of driver’s side of the space. The Elise starts with the Toyota 1.8L VVTL-i engine from the Celica and fits different intake, exhaust, and engine control electronics to create 190 hp. The result is a reported 0-60 of 4.9 seconds, and top speed of 141 mph (limited) with an original base MSRP of $52,970. Not quite exotic but not quite the every day sports car. This 2005 Lotus Elise is for sale in Platte City, Missouri. Check out the listing on eBay for details and contact information.
