Initially conceived in 1998, the first concept Viper was introduced in 1989, and production began in 1991. This vehicle, 2008, represents the 4th generation Viper. Dodge used the 8.4L V10 engine for the new Viper which produced 600 hp (100 hp more than the 3rd generation), 506 lb. of torque, a 0-60 of under 4 seconds and a top speed of over 200 mph. In 2009 Dodge announced the end of Viper production until the Viper was reintroduced in 2012. Again in 2015 Dodge announced the last production year of the Viper would be 2017.
