**UPDATE: Volvo sold for $7,000 (52 bids) **
Seller offering a 1964 Volvo 1800S with unknown miles at auction with a current bid of $4,301 (reserve not met – 32 bids). While these were produced in England and Sweden there is a serious hint of Italian design that we like. Seller says this was originally a California car and has undergone some changes on its move to Missouri. Original color was Graphite with Red leather/red carpet interior which has been replaced and repainted. Motor runs with a set of freshly rebuilt carburetors. Seller does a good job of outlining problems and potential problems including rust and electrical work.
The 1800 was produced from 1961-1973. Originally produced at a Jensen assembly line in England, production switched to Sweden (hence the “S” designation) in 1963 due to quality issues. The 1.8L B18 engine with dual carburetors produced 100 hp and a top speed of 110 mph. In 1963, an updated gearbox included an overdrive which improved fuel efficiency, decreased drive terrain wear and increased the top speed to 120 mph. In 1963 the engine was also improved to produce an additional 8 hp. From 1961-1973 47,942 1800’s were produced. Hopefully this project stays in the area and if they’re looking for our suggestion – go with the wire wheels. This 1963 Volvo 1800S is for sale in Liberty, Missouri.
