Seller offering a survivor 1968 Jeepster Convertible with 68,000 original miles for $5,200. Not to be confused with the Jeepster Commando, the Jeepster Convertible was marketed toward a buyer with less off-road interest – a full interior, air conditioning, carpeting and other refinements that the more utilitarian Commando did not have.
Unlike the Commando, the Jeepster’s full pair was rear-mounted where the Commando spare was mounted inside the vehicle. The seats, armrest, and door panels were upholstered and the Jeepster featured roll-up windows. Two engine variants were available – a 75-hp 4-cylinder and a 155-hp V6. Seller says this example is equipped with the later.
The exterior appears to be complete and seller says the two tone yellow and white paint is original – no apparent rust or body damage. Interior pictures are not complete. Appears to have the rear bench seat and two bucket seats. Seller says the vehicle has not been driven in recent years but has been stored inside.
